Prerequisite: C+ average in Honors Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry or B+ average in
Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry.
This course introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. This course is required for students taking MAT 230/Marian in the spring. Students complete a rigorous study of the following concepts: describing patterns and departures from patterns, planning and conducting a statistical study, exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation, and estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses. A TI-84+ GRAPHING CALCULATOR IS NEEDED.
