Digital Application and Responsibility

Digital Applications and Responsibility prepares students to use technology in an effective and appropriate manner in school, in a job, or in everyday life. Students develop skills related to word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and communications software. Students learn what it means to be a good digital citizen and how to use technology, including social media, responsibly. Students expand their knowledge of how to use digital devices and software to build decision-making and problem-solving skills. Students should be provided with the opportunity to seek industry-recognized digital literacy certifications.

PC or Mac-based laptop required.  Tablets and Chromebooks are not acceptable.

IT Internship

Prerequisites: Application and Interview required for acceptance.

IT Internship is a career and technical business and information technology course that will prepare students for careers in business and industry dealing with support and services in information technology.  Students will gain the necessary skills to implement computer systems and deploy software solutions, provide technical assistance, and manage information systems with attention to security. Students will develop an understanding of IT professionalism including the importance of ethics, communication skills, and knowledge of the technological workplace.  Essential skill and knowledge areas include but are not limited to: General Computer Usage Skills; Management Information Systems; Basic Network Systems; Basic Interactive Media Development. Class may also extend to additional time outside of the class.

Business Law and Ethics

This course is a study of basic principles of personal and practical law in our country.  Subject matter includes civil law, criminal law, consumer law, buying a house, rental laws, and trial/courtroom procedures. The main purpose is to provide the student with an understanding of the working legal system of the United States today, both civil and criminal.  Computers are used daily in this classroom. Personal laptops or tablets are extremely beneficial to student learning in this course.
